The most notorious guardian in the state is Rebecca Fierle, a woman from Ocala who had a guardianship business that spanned the state.

She had hundreds of clients, known as “wards,” in 19 different counties, and was given complete control of their medical decisions and money.

“She’s a huge example of everything that’s wrong with the guardianship system,”

Dr. Sam Sugar, a guardianship reform advocate, told the I-Team.

“I call her the Apex Predator of Probate.”
